NAME AND CONCEPT

Term football stands for a sports game played by millions of people on all continents. On the other hand, futsal is a long-established sports game that is significantly different from the so-called football (Football Association) – it is played on smaller fields, with fewer participants, with different rules and propositions, on different surfaces, in a different way…

Futsal can be said to refer to three types of futsal that are played in the world today – FIFA type of futsal, American type of futsal (indoor soccer) and beach soccer.

PLACE AND SIGNIFICANCE IN THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION SYSTEM

Futsal, as a sports game, holds its place in the physical education system. Its importance is multifaceted. Practicing futsal through systematic physical exercise develops motor skills – strength, speed, endurance, mobility, agility, coordination. In terms of technical performance, futsal requires particularly good ball control and coping with situations in a small area.

Along with the pleasures it provides (movement, dribbling, passing, goals…) futsal also brings with it great shifts in results. Constant turnovers (which are more frequent than in football) lead to the development of students’ adaptive mechanisms. Adequately implemented in physical education classes, futsal contributes to development of qualities such as will, determination, persistence, courage, perseverance, harmonizing individual attitudes with the unique attitude of the group. It would be futile to try to cultivate these characteristics without some activity that would constantly refer to them.
The psychological structure of a futsal player is adorned by traits such as communicativeness, optimism, responsibility, unpredictability, persistence, striving for constant progress in sports mastery, which can sometimes border on perfectionism.

FUTSAL SYSTEMATIZATION

Futsal as a sport can be systematized by the following criteria:

  1. The goal of physical exercise and competition
  2. Rules and propositions

Futsal systematization by the goal of physical exercise and competition:

  1. SCHOOL-TYPE
  2. REGISTERED
    • AMATEUR
    • TOP
    • PROFESSIONAL
  3. RECREATIONAL
School-type futsal is an important link between physical education and sports and combines the characteristics of both. It is part of the educational process, and with a more serious approach, it can be the basis of developing futsal as a career. School-type futsal has clear goals and tasks that derive from the goals and tasks of physical education. Work in clubs, which is close to the sports training process – but it is not, school competitions that respect the basic sport rules – but do not have to, achieved sports results – which are not the goal, but the motive, all of these are significant determinants of school-type futsal that belongs to the school and educational process.

Registered futsal refers to futsal as the most organized segment of the sport, through organized competitions with regulated game rules, organization and team records. Registered futsal, as the most organized segment of the sport, is divided into three categories. These are: amateur, top and professional.

Amateur futsal is a type of registered futsal where the athlete does not receive any compensation for the effort. It is based on the desire to compete and socialize, so this type of futsal is the most widespread.

Top futsal is a type of registered futsal played by the most persistent, the most prepared, the best among the best. The essence of this type of sport is the achievement of top sports results by the athlete which are valued at international competitions. Despite all of the above, these athletes are not professionals for one simple reason – they cannot support themselves and their families by playing such futsal. Not to mention longer-term security.

Professional futsal is a type of registered futsal in which the athlete engages professionally and receives compensation for such engagement that is sufficient for living, including their future. Such playing of futsal involves contracts, for which they receive a certain amount of money, regular monthly income and usually very little rights, because the one who provides the financial resources generally also disposes of the professional himself. Due to its uniqueness reflected in the high intensity and physical and mental efforts, professional futsal is relatively short-lived and can be played by young and healthy people.

Recreational futsal is futsal played for fun, or as a sport for all. It gathers and engages everyone who feels the need for physical movement, regardless of age and physical abilities. In recreational futsal there is no selection and the result is not of primary importance. Recreational futsal, unlike amateur futsal, is not hierarchically structured and the primary rule is an agreement that can be changed from action to action. The competition rules are adapted to the participants but also to the material conditions in which they are organized.

Futsal systematization by rules and propositions:
  1. FIFA FUTSAL
  2. AMERICAN INDOOR SOCCER
  3. BEACH SOCCER
FIFA Futsal is the official type of futsal with rules recognized by the International Football Association – FIFA.

Indoor Soccer is a type of futsal played in the USA. Several professional indoor soccer leagues have existed on this continent for many years – MISL (Major Indoor Soccer League), CISL (Continental Indoor Soccer League), NPSL (National Professional Soccer League).

Beach soccer is a type of futsal played in tournaments in the summer months on sandy beaches worldwide.

Whoever once embraces small football and understands it in the right way will remain attached to it forever.
